The price of one Bitcoin has crossed INR 17 Lakh beating the 2017 price levels. While the noise regarding this bull run is not as much as the one back in 2017, the interest in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is undeniably strong in India.
Let’s have a look at a few famous people who have invested in Bitcoin or discussed Bitcoin and its benefits.
1) Gaurav Chaudhary (aka Technical Guruji)
When it comes to technology, Gaurav Chaudhary (aka Technical Guruji) is the first person that comes in the mind of everyone in India. As India’s most famous tech reviewer, Gaurav first introduced Bitcoin to his followers back in 2016, at a time when bitcoin was almost unheard of in India. Since then he has promoted Bitcoin multiple times even showing people on how to buy Bitcoin in India.
2) Dhruv Rathee
Famous Indian YouTuber and Social Media activist, Dhruv Rathee, is long considered a Bitcoin bull and has promoted Bitcoin to his followers on multiple occasions. In Dhruv Rathee’s recent collaboration, with Coinswitch, the YouTuber is seen showing his audience on how to buy Bitcoin.
3) Tanmay Bhat
Tanmay Bhat was one of the pioneers of the YouTube Comedy sketch revolution in India through his popular YouTube channel – AIB. After leaving AIB, Tanmay Bhat started his own podcast in which he talks about many things – including personal finance & Bitcoins.
4) Kunal Shah
One of India’s most celebrated fintech entrepreneur, Kunal Shah, is also pro-Bitcoin. Founder of credit card payment startup, CRED and Freecharge, Kunal Shah is active in the global fintech community including the Bitcoin community. While Kunal Shah hasn’t publicly disclosed whether he has invested in Bitcoins or not, he has invested in a couple of cryptocurrency startups in India such as Coinswitch and Nuo Network making him India’s Bitcoin bull.
5) Sorabh Pant
The standup comedian turned podcaster, Sorabh Pant is also familiar with Bitcoin. Although it can’t be confirmed whether Sorabh Pant holds Bitcoins, he has talked about Bitcoin and its obvious benefits on his podcast.
